Chapter 14 - The 5 Stages of Successful Recruiting (Order on Amazon)
Recruiting is a well-planned process, not an event. Therefore, it's important to understand each stage of the process, and more important, know which stage you are in with each of your recruiting prospects. Each stage builds upon the previous stage, which means each stage must be completed in its proper order to maximize your chance of recruiting new distributors.
Stage 1 - Attraction
The first stage of the recruiting process is the attraction stage, where friends, family members, co-workers, and even strangers may begin to take notice of your business opportunity.
There are several methods you can use to attract interest in your business opportunity. Social media websites (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), are very effective venues for attracting people to your business opportunity.
As you interact with people throughout the day, your conversations, and even your demeanor, are great tools for raising curiosity about you and your opportunity.
Stage 2 - Engagement
In the engagement stage, your primary goal is to get personal, by sharing information about yourself, and your WHY, in addition to asking questions to learn more about your recruiting prospect. As people begin to show interest in your opportunity, you'll need to remain disciplined, understanding where you are in the recruiting process. Now is not the time to begin sharing details about your opportunity, that happens in the next stage.
An important advantage of this stage is, it provides you with an opportunity to differentiate yourself from other network marketers. The typical network marketers' response to someone showing interest in their opportunity is to literally flood them with information and presentations. By taking the time to get personal, you are demonstrating a genuine interest in learning more about them, and WHY they want to know more about your opportunity.
